Academy of Angst & Magic Mini TTRPG
Four-page mini RPG riso printed in black ink on cream paper with a hand-sewn binding. 4x5".
This is a game meant to evoke the vibe of forum roleplays from the 2000s and 2010s (the kind where every character is somehow the main character, has an equally tragic backstory, and is represented by one of six anime drawings recycled from DeviantArt) as well as supernatural teen soaps like The Vampire Diaries, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Riverdale. Don’t shy away from being silly, melodramatic, cheesy, or cringe—lean into what your 14-year-old self would have wanted.
What you need to play:
- Index cards or scrap paper and pencils
- Six-sided and twelve-sided dice
- A few hours of your time
- Two to four friends, acquaintances, lovers, or enemies to play with, plus one person willing to act as GM and run the game
- This game is based on Lasers & Feelings by John Harper (www.onesevendesign.com/laserfeelings/), licensed for use under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0
Risograph Print Care & Info
Risograph printing is an environmentally-friendly digital printing method similar to screen printing. As each layer of color is printed separately, small imperfections can occur, like roller marks, patchy ink, or misalignment. These flaws are part of the fun! Please expect some small variations in every print.
CARE NOTE: Riso printing uses a soy ink that, similar to newspaper ink, never truly "dries" all the way. For this reason, try to avoid smudging the surface of your print excessively. If small smudges or fingerprints do show up, don't worry! Most can be removed with an ordinary pencil eraser.
